complete relief from symptoms!!!

Posted by Jeroen on August 14, 2011, at 16:17:20

Hi, not yet :( but this is my history of meds i have taken...

i have had my first psychotic attack in 1998... at school, can you imagine how i felt :(

zyprexa 30 mg, risperdal, solian, sulpiride, geodon, abilify

Seroquel worked!!! for a short period of time, what does this med has that no other med has???

Not tried yet --> Saphris, Lithium, Glutamate anti psychotic...

why can 1 med give me full relief while others do nothing or little...

in this period i almost died taking: Lamictal 25 mg for a week (no rash but tardive psychosis mania)

mixing Glycine with seroquel XR severe tachardia for 5 lasting hours, can you imagine how i felt ultra- rapid heart beats for 5 hours, it enhanced the Seroquel XR heart side effects

all my hope goes to lithium and saphris

what do you people think??

Wish I knew that thing about seroquel for you...was it in combo?

I have heard saphris spoken very well of.

Then, of course, lithium.

Yes. Best going forward!

This gets my nomination for one of the most eye-catching thread headers :-)

There have been some reports of people getting good resuls by mixing an atypical (Seroquel for example) along with one of the older, typical antipsychotics, such as thioridazine or trifluroperazine or haloperidol.

Might be worth a trial.

Yes.

I have seen Navane (Thiothixene) and Trilafon (perphenazine) work well in this roll.

Do you mind i try lithium first, or is it hardcore medicine?

Lithium at low dosages can be very gentle. At higher dosages, there are cautions regarding thyroid and kidney function. However, close monitoring can minimize this risk.

I don't know what you consider to be a "hard-core" medicine. However, lithium can work magic for some people. If you suffer from schizoaffective disorder - bipolar type, I would hope that lithium helps you. There are a few studies of the use of lithium in schizophrenia, but I don't know how consistent the results have been.

I admire you greatly for your perseverance and tolerance for pain. These traits will help you find an effective treatment.
