Wow. Getting out of bed in the morning continues to be difficult for me. I use it as one way to gauge how well I am doing.

A tentative, modest yay(!).

ha no changes yet FB. i was actually getting on here to check on how the emsam is working for you. i saw that your doctor told you to remove 1/3 of the patch at night. has that changed the effect any? if i understood it right, wearing only a small portiion of the patch makes the emsam more likely to raise dopamine levels more. its got something to do with balancing out the effects of the emsam. it sounds little weird, i know. but the the 6mg patch is like taking a high dose of selegiline, around 30mgs i believe. the emsam is selegiline it patch form and its absorbed better in patch form. but at higher doses like with emsam patch it raises dopamine as well as serotonin levels, at low doses it just works on raising dopamine. and dopamine is supposed to be the "feel good" chemical for most. but anyways amitryptiline is an interesting med, and if you decide to take that i hope it works well.

havent felt much from the risperdal yet tho, i am expecting it to take about a month though if
im going to get the results im hoping for.
im about to start propranolol for blood pressure and am hoping it helps with my anxiety. but im not so sure it can help with anxiety thats caused by feeling numb. i guess i'll find out. am hoping it helps with sleep too.
have a good one.

poser, I Didn't realize you had high anxiety. (Or is it high blood ptessure and moderate anxiety?) I wonder how that plays into feeling numb. When I have severe social anxiety, (not for awhile, thank goodness), my body feels numb. Even now stress can trigger raynaud's syndrome esp in feet. Maybe this numbness is not the sort or relation to what you're talking about with risperdal.
That is more akin to anohedonia, is that
correct? I do remember trying doxepin a few weeks or month maybe and it felt really odd--like a spinal block. I've had one, and of course I could feel, but I just
kept thinking of it.

Will you let me know about the propranol, too? I have no idea how it's dosed--but it could help. Well, I'm hoping. Anxiety can do weird things to people, very unexpected and simple things. I'd love you to feel a little better from something like propranol and then
build on it.

I'm on to a full 6mg patch, sleep with it now. My gp prescribed 5mg of Valium. It's new to me and knocks me out all
night--well last night I did wake up at 1:00, sighed, took out a second dose, woke up and saw I never did take it. The pill was just on my bed table. A happy doh! moment.

You know alot about emsam. I guess because of your mom. Are you in school? College or done? I think you've very smart.

Thanks for checking on me--I was checking on you :D

well i learned alot about the emsam when my mom took it and also i plan on taking selegiline short term if my brain gets more tolerant of dopamine again. and yes i do have some anxiety. like i avoid people because my emotions are so numb, i feel like i dont have much to say. the propranolol is mainly used for blood pressure, lowest dose is 10 mgs and usually tops at 80 i believe. its also used for anxiety too because it blocks off the effects anxiety has on your body. you know.. the feeling you get when your heart starts beating fast and things like that. people like to take it before going out and being in front of alot of people. ive read singers and performers like to take it too because it helps keep them calm during a concert. im just wondering how its going to work for my kind of anxiety, guess i wont know til i try it tomorrow.

oh and no, im not it college, unfortunately. i feel like i've had my life just blow by me without me participating in it since i've been like this. my goal is to be in the military once i get over this though, though im not sure about their rules on using antidepressants in the past. i just know if i can get my head cleared of all the side effects these meds have had on me im never taking anything other than aspirin again! haha seriously...

I hope you do get this cleared up, and hope the propanol works to your advantage. I've only read about it here. Good luck tomorrow with it. Did you have anxiety before prior to treatment?

Hey, what branch of the military are you interesteokay? I believe some have become more accepting of med use if you do find yourself taking taking a maintenance med for awhile.

Others have tried propanol--post how it goes, okay?

I'm an anxiety/panic/depression sufferer.... was on Zoloft 100mg/day, Edronax 4mg twice a day and Xanax 1mg twice a day, and was still feeling bad a lot of the time. The addition of 1mg of risperidone at night made a big improvement in my symptoms.
