Wellbutrin has pooped out the first 5 months were so great then a declined slowly for a couple months, until I went completely off my nut. would 3-4 months be long enough before I restart it?

I would consider combining Wellbutrin with another antidepressant and initiate treatment within weeks rather than months. Most doctors combine Wellbutrin with a SRI like Zoloft, Lexapro, or Pristiq. If you want to add a tricyclic instead, I would consider using nortriptyline. It depends upon what your treatment history looks like. Which SRIs have produced any kind of improvement at all?

Scott, I take concerta and and I'm given to depression and anxiety, anxiety mostly. I was on lexapro for long time, I stopped and restarted over and over due to poopout every 6-9 months but it doen't seem effective any more and I didn't have the stability that I had with wellbutrin. paxil worked the first time around, prozac worked and now I'm on zoloft and not doing well. Read something about remeron or rispidol to correct wellbutrin poopout, something tecnical mecanism pathways I don't know? On wellbutrin I was consistanly stable, emotionaly strong and focused, I like that person. Do you have a remidy for Wellbutrin poopout. If it is from down regulation do you think taking a dopamine precurser could help? I think tyrocine (?spell) becomes dopamine.
