Posted by BayLeaf on January 3, 2011, at 9:02:37

I have TONS of energy. Picture Tiger's body on Eyeore's face. This is a F'ing dangerous combination! Jeepers. Someone should warn people about this. I can accomplish many harmful things this way!

Fug. I'm so outta control.

Not suicidal tho, and yes I'm in touch with my pdoc.

How long ago did you start it? What dose did you start at (and what dose are you on now)?

I started 3 weeks ago at 5mg, with 100mg Pristiq. At 5mg, even within 1 week, I was bouncing off walls. After 2 weeks I started biting it in half and am less wired.

At 2.5mg I have tons of energy...not sleeping much although I take Clonazepam at night. Still same level of depression, flat affect, don't give a fig about life. I'm just a crazed cleaning Eyeore whirlwind.

TY for responding.

(((BayLeaf))) Sorry you're having such a rough start. I haven't any experience with Abilify but plenty of experiences with rough starts! I hope it evens out for you soon - maybe having some food in your stomach before taking it would lesson the ferocity of the effect?
Failing that, the boring and reliable Mood Chart might help to actualize whether the stuff is working for you or not. Not seeing the forest for the trees deal, you know.

take care and pls come to my house when you're done cleaning yours...

Hi Bayleaf,

Do you need a stabilizer? Abilify flattened and was a depressant, but that's my response. I didn't have tons of energy though. That part sounds good to me, and I understand that might not be what your looking for. I forget how long I was told to wait for full effect.

Good luck to you,

Abilify flattened me as well, but it helped with my anxiety on a more consistent basis than benzos. I don't know that it gave me more energy, per se, but it did give me a restlessness -- not an anxiousness, but a feeling that I didn't want to sit still. Didn't help with my depression, though -- just my anxiety.

Have you tried wellbutrin with Pristiq? It would be more likely to improve your mood than abilify, I would think.

Just curious. Has anyone not felt flat on abilify, at least for awhile? I know lots are happy enough to have it in their cocktail.

How are you doing Bayleaf?

I felt great on abilify. Great. And it worked within days after months of severe depression. But it made me gain weight so fast is was scary, so eventually I stopped. I started and stopped repeatedly for over a year just because it was so effective for me, but I gained over 35 pounds, despite metformin and cytomel and alli and dieting and exercise.

Emanuel, that's awful. I am sorry.

I remember the weight thing, too. It was unreal. :(

I hope you have something working for you now? I haven't :(
