Tonight I was very depressed after taking too much Celexa. I was at an 8 on a scale of 10. So I decided to take a Klonopin .5mg, Ambien 20mg and go to bed. Within 5 minutes of taking these drugs, I felt almost totally better, down to a 1. I know the Klonopin by itself doesn't help with my depression. Has anyone had experiences of Ambien helping with depression? The difference was quite stark.

I wouldn't think this is a good idea to continue. But glad you had a good response. I wonder if it was the boost of two meds for sleep? Someone in the past mentioned this also. Phillipa

Interesting, Link. Any idea of why zopiclone would help? Do you take it nightly?
If I take too much of an SSRI, I get depressed. That's what happened last night. I was in that state when the Ambien helped me so much.

Yes. It's not euphoria, though--the depression symptoms cleared right up for a couple hours.

Unfortunately, the benefits are extremely short term. They will not last.

Ed: Yeah, that's true. And it works only when I go too high on my SSRI and get very depressed as a result.
This is the end of the thread.
