leaden paralysis sucks

Posted by g_g_g_unit on November 8, 2010, at 2:19:31

While my clomipramine trial was ultimately unfavorable, it made me forget what it felt like to be able to move throughout the day without feeling like your limbs have lead weights strapped to them, and you're constantly gasping for consciousness.

Does the leaden paralysis in (atypical) depression remit in response to any AD, or are more activating drugs better in that respect?

G Unit you say you forgot what leaden paralysis was like when on chlomipramine so that means you are off it. So are you saying you improved when on it and depression has returned worse? Phillipa

I found that NRI drugs helped the leaden feeling, but didnt address the depression. So I had energy but no motivation to use it.

I'm don't have any answers for you. I just wanted to say that I am sorry you have been going through such a rough time. I hope you find a med (or combo of meds) that helps you with all your symptoms. *hugs*

Hmm NRI's don't really agree with me unfortunately. did stimulants help the leaden feeling at all?

Stims do help that but the antidepressant effects might be transitory.
I wouldnt rely on stims for depression. Ive been doing that for the last few months since I had a bit of an argument with my doc. Its the only prescription we agreed on so its all I had. It kept me afloat but the ups and downs are no fun.
