Wellbutrin/Buspar/Trazodone Combination

Posted by alx1980 on May 27, 2010, at 13:53:45

My doctor just recommended that I try a combination of Wellbutrin (low dose), Buspar, and Trazodone (at night). Has anyone had experiences with this combo or at least two of these together? Is this safe? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a 29 y/o male and deal with a mix of ADD/Anxiety/mild depression. I should note that I have been through it when it comes to antidepressants... SSRIs and Wellbutrin on it's own were a bad experience. Beyond this I am considering Strattera (alone) or ordering Stablon (and taking it alone).

Hi,

I've tried this combination of drugs recently.
But I didn't sleep on 100 mg of trazodone.

Stahl's Essential Psychopharmacology:
Wellbutrin
Best augmenting combos:
Trazodone for residual insomnia

So Wellbutrin and trazodone is a good combo.

Therea are no interactions between Buspar and Wellbutrin.
I don't know for sure about Buspar and trazodone.

Now I'm on Wellbutrin, Remeron and Buspar.
This is a great combination of drugs.

Best regards,
X-ray

Wellbutrin XL 150 mg
Remeron 45 mg
Buspar 40 mg

Hello alx1980!

Welcome to Psycho-Babble. I've taken Welbutrin and trazodone, but not with Buspar. The trazodone wasn't taken everyday though, it was just for a few days of insomnia. I didn't get any side effects, but then again I am sort of weird in that I don't usually notice side effects. I hope someone can give you some answers.

Trazadone is pretty neat. It allows me to sleep through the night, which is quite an accomplishment.

Trazodone: 8 hrs
Ambien: 6 hrs

Just wondering if you're still taking the combination of Wellbutrin, Remeron and Buspar.....if so, is it still working well for you.
