I had been taking Wellbutrin 250mg (150 in a.m., 100 late afternoon) and Remeron 30mg at night for several months. It was of some help, but I still didn't have any energy or inclination to do anything at night. Yesterday I added Serzone 100mg to the mix, and by last night, I felt like my brain was alive for the first time in a long time.
I've taken Serzone before as monotherapy (It's just generic Nefazodone... all they make at this point, but Serzone is shorter to type). It was okay, but left me with moods all over the place. This time, I already had the regimen of Wellbutrin and Remeron, so the Serzone is just an add on to see if I can become much better. First day and the returns were good. I've felt good on the first day of things before and it quickly faded or became unpleasant, but maybe it'll be better since it's just an add on.
Wonder if anybody else has ever taken Wellbutrin + Remeron + Serzone together (I hate SSRIs, by the way). Anyway, my brain felt truly alive last night. It was nice. I did have a heck of a time getting to sleep though, but still feel good this morning.

Thanks. I've been extremely treatment resistant to date, so any glimmer of hope is so welcome.
How are you doing, Phillipa? What's your med regimen these days? Is it effective?

Not really same old benzos and luvox and did add some lexapro. Doesn't seem to make a difference though. Have gone from always being panicy to just tired and worried all the time. Phillipa

Brand name Serzone is no longer available here in the States either, but they still make its generic, Nefazodone. I just called it Serzone because it's shorter to type.
Unfortunatley, the good feeling I had from it only happened on the first day. I'm still on Remeron and Wellbutrin though. Not sure how much good they are doing me. Maybe some, but definitely nothing close to what would be called remission. Wish I had a success story to relate, but it seems the struggle continues.

Isn't it something like an antihistamine effect? I have a bottle of it only took for a short time. Forgot about that one. Phillipa

You mean Serzone/Nefazodone? If so, no, it's an AD, somewhat related to Trazodone, but it doesn't knock you out like that.
It has a mild sedation effect, but that's about it. It's an interesting med that I've tried a number of times. Always on the first day, it makes me feel really good, but that's it. Strange, I know, but that's how it works. I always decide shortly thereafter that it's not part of a long term solution.
I had never tried it with my present regimen, so I figured I'd give it a go. Leave no stone unturned sort of thing.

Yes familiar that it is an ad. Just thought had a kind of antihistamine effect like dry mouth etc. I posted about it and didn't like the feedback. Long story. Not important. Phillipa
