Parnate after Prozac Poopout?

Posted by bearfan on August 16, 2010, at 3:44:33

I've been on prozac many years and never could find anything that worked as well after it started being less effective after on it for such awhile. Anyone have a similar experience with it or another SSRI and moved over to Parnate? How was the switch like? Was it like another antidepressant or were remissions levels higher? I always felt like 70% remission of symptoms on SSRIs like to get in the 90% tier (fully functional forget about symptoms).

The annoying thing about using MAOIs after Prozac is that you have to have been completely off Prozac for at least five weeks before starting an MAOI. This is due to the exceptionally long duration of action of Prozac's active metabolite.

Yes I am aware of the longer washout. Although I haven't been on Prozac for some time.
