I thought this list was interesting. It was also suprising to see that good old, reliable Xanax made #1....

Violette thanks as on xanax and was thinking of changing ad's. Looks like zoloft is number two then lexapro. Surprising to see paxil didn't make the list. Since zoloft is used by two family members. That will be the one I guess. Timely article. Thanks Phillipa

Well, I'm glad xanax did well because it is a good med. Especially when used responsibly.

The others on the list? Well. I gotta say, just because something was widely prescribed in no way means it is somehow better than other choices. There are fads, trends, conferences, pharmaceutical rep campaigns, all kinds of stuff that influence the prescription decision.

Widely prescribed does not equal widely effective. Except maybe in the case of xanax. Glad it took first place. I don't use it, but I am a fan of it in emergencies.
