My visit to the psychiatric clinic wasn't terrible like I expected--the NP I saw seemed to completely understand my plight. She prescribed Marplan 10mg b.i.d. and is following the general titration schedule. Naturally, my pharmacy had to order it--the only obstacle I may face is insurance. I was told by my Medicare part D plan it'd be covered with zero copay even though it is a "tier 3" drug, because I am (hopefully, temporarily) on SSDI. No cause for celebration yet, in the weeks ahead we'll see if this does the trick. She also gave me klonopin 1mg for anxiety which I've taken before. Please, let this pull me out of the barely functional mess I'm in....

I know how that goes.
It is hard to know how much optimism to invest in a new drug. I started Marplan yesterday.

Good luck to both of you. Marplan was my drug of choice in 1993 and I seem to respond only to MAO's, so I'll be hoping for your success.
My suggestion...Start slow and increase gradually.
MAO's can take some time to work but when they do..watch out.
