I've been more depressed the last couple days and the only differences are the perphenazine and the ativan that I've added for sleeping. Are either or those know for depression?

Both perphenazine and lorazepam have the potential to induce or aggravate depressive symptoms in some cases, particularly at high doses.

I find lorazepam fairly mood neutral. I would suspect the perphenazine would be more likely to induce depression. But, as Ed says, lorazapam can certainly induce depression.

Klonopin is the one that does it for. Ativan was fine for me. Phillipa how high is the dose?

Ativan does not worsen my depression. Klonopin does.

Also, I've heard of cases where people have become distressed and started crying after a single dose.

YMMV. My (own) eperience is that klonazepam has definate depressant effects, xanax has mood elevating effects. Ativan and bromazepam are fairly mood neutral for me. Zopiclone seems to improve my mood. (side note: I read zopiclone is a nicotinergic acetycholine antagonist)

I remember when I was given 2mg ativan IM for severe anxiety and felt totally relaxed and normal for quite a while many hours. Phillipa

I dunno manic.
I don't think everybody will get addicted to ativan.
I use it as needed and never have cravings or withdrawl.

i have meds every day for tyriod it nothing to do with that//im warning you ,i took as a take when needed basis// but that ok until you hit your first real life threaterning attack, an there the only thing that helps//as i say im level at 4 mg a day now but i am addicted to the 4mg// if i dont take them its like i said the other night i forgot the 2mg an went into meltdown//if the wife hadent told me i had forgot the 2mg //i definetly thought i was in the sh*t big time//most time when a doc gives a patient a new med he will give ativan or some benzo to help till your ad kicks in he then takes away the benzo after say 6 weeks the patient goes in benzo withdrawl an thinks this ad is rubbish//give me a new one doc please///it is im afraid very easy to get out of control, depending on the severity of you anxierty// i mean i could not unwind at all never sit still shake like rattle snake till people were scared for me//ativan was all that worked an stopped that, but that is when i needed more that one when needed//see it could an does happen to a lot of people//o course you are going to take more its working isnt it an BANG your on the hook

I don't understand if you are now feeling normal why would a person want or need more? My goal has always been less is best hence lower doses now. Phillipa

i dont need more ,dont you read posts correctly, i did at the time, an there are plenty of people feel the way i did then// you have probably never been in the position like a lot of people out of the mind with anxierty an only large amounts of benzo,s stop it//you dont take more if your ok ,,its like you with your tiny brocken sliver of valium// why do you need that when takeing axnax.// your not telling me that does any good /if you stopped that you would not even notice any difference//ativan is big guns an if you ever get in a state, like i was you would take them till they kill you as your already dead inside. now im in remission i dont need the big dose like you an axnax///what would you take in a break down//more axanx im sure

where are you going to find an ssri// that work,s in 1 hour //people that take a lot of benzo,s at one go, are doing it for 1 reason// to get a bit of control at that moment //to mabye stop them from hurting themselves///have you never had a anxierty attack , were you fall to the floor in convultions ,an people think your haveing a heart attack. an your taken to a-an-e an spend a night on oxegen an breathing like a wounded buffalo//i have, an you no what i was given, injection of ativan so it work straight away.

Manic remember when I posted that when thyroid changed my anxiety forced me to go to see one of the pdocs I worked with and she gave me 2mg of IM ativan. And I felt normal for a long while. Til they found out it was thyroid I had to up the xanax. So yes I know. Phillipa ps I went down in dose when thyroid dose adjusted

my thyriod meds have been increased but there is no way im dropping the ativan//why would i drop something that gives me the start of day i need/ an the sleep at night i need//if you want to drop meds your luvox would be the one// its how long you have been on it//your med fear wont let you change from the one that stopped working years ago//to do a tapper on to another ssri is as easy as falling of a bike //no side effects, or start up//i would go as far as to say it gives you a buzz

My pdoc doesn't taper just switches meds. All my docs always have. No problems. I don't desire a buzz. Phillipa
