Hello everyone it's been a while since I've written. I'm doing really well on the Parnate as far as being able to function, especially when my husband has to go the field. That's one of the biggest difference, that and school. Though with school, even though determined not to quit, I could use some help when it comes to my ADD. So I was wondering if anyone knew of any good experiences where even a small amount of a stimulant helped the ADD? I'm going to look at the history on the site as well...

I don't have ADD but friend does and she is on Parnate and Adderall XR. The two work very well together and it helps her ADD.
What do you normally take for your ADD?

I have taken Adderall for ADD before and it really did help. That's what I'm hoping the Dr. adds to the parnate tomorrow. Do you know how many mg she takes?

I'm glad you posted this. I want to try an MAOI (Emsam or Parnate) for depression since SSRIs don't do much. I take Dexedrine for ADD though, and without it, its near impossible to function optimally at work. Most doctors just don't know enough about the combo or are scared to combine the two. I've read plenty of reports online (many from this site) of people taking the combo and they seem to love it and have had no problems.
Adding Provigil would be a "safer" way to treat ADD while on an MAOI, but its expensive and only works for some people with ADD. Maybe that could be a backup option if your pdoc won't do a regular stimulant. Good luck and if you try the combo, please report back your experiences!

I was on 30 mg of the adderall XR, but you might need more.

nicotine is something else you can use for ADD on an maoi. i find it better than AMP actually

No, I didn't get on the adderall..I'm trying to get in with a new Dr. I'm waiting on a call back for the appt. Though I have an appt with my present Dr. on the 4th, which I dont think will go well when it comes to starting something for the ADD. We shall see
