Best meds for focus and motivation

Posted by sac on December 30, 2009, at 5:24:48

I'm just about ready to throw the towel in with wellbutrin. I think I gave it a fair trial. Been on it for a year, it was added to my Prozac 20 mgs, Lithium 450mgs. I never liked it from the beginning but was so desperate for help with my increasing difficulty concentrating and getting things done. I could not tolerate more than 150 mgs day anyway due to anxiety. Received some benefit with cognition but not much. Basically, my main problems are:

Difficulty concentrating (esp. at work)
Disorganization (stuff piled up everywhere)
Losing things constantly
Forgetfulness
Overwhelmed
Frustrated by lack of motivation

As a note, this is not typical of my personality. I have, in the past, been organized, energetic, and had a pretty sharp mind. Now I just feel like my mind is like mud. I'm very concerned about this. Any experiences, or med recommendation? If I can't get it together, I'll be very close to losing my job. Thank you.

Well, I could mention some common causes of your symptoms that you should look into, but that's another story. It would be nice to nail the cause and not have to take meds that sort of kind of in a way counteract it, yeah?

Modafinil.
Hydergine.
Ritalin.
Adderall.
Savella.
