Quitting Paxil, Starting Stablon/Tianeptine again

Posted by AdamCanada2 on November 9, 2009, at 23:46:15

Paxil seems to be pooped out just like it was last year when my strong treatment resis dep + social anxiety would come back in strong force. Paxil helped moderately for years but this trial again just doesn't cut it, no benifits but all the side effects such as fatigue, dying sex drive, poor cognition etc.

So... I am dropping my 10mg paxil asap. Yes I know it sounds low dose but higher made me sleep all the time and not able to function. Sensitive to meds.

So I try Stablon very soon.

But how soon is good? Paxil is such a relatively low dose. 1 week break? Please offer any suggestions and any reminders of how Stablon effects you or anything you heard.

I been on this med before with moderate results but hard to remember stuff.

Please respond.

Also I assume it's safe with gabapentin (helps me a lot but builds tolerance)?

Thank you for reading.

Why do you have to wait I always started new one right away l0mg paxil was the only one that worked after three months for me. Phillipa

You should always wait about a week before trying a new med. Otherwise you won't know if you are having a reaction (bad one) to the new med, or the combo that is in your system. Good luck with the new trial.

I would taper the Paxil very slowly, perhaps adding a dose or two of 10mg Prozac to help get you off it.

Adam, good luck and best wishes--I have experience with neither or else I would share.

And all my pdoc did. I think it's the wise way to go.
