Hi,

The concentration of trazodone and its active metabolite increases by adding fluoxetine.

This could lead to increased sedation and serotonin related side effects.

This combination should be avoided.

Best regards,

You might start at 25mg and see how little you need to sleep.

Hey!

Trazodone is a very VERY weak serotonine reuptake blocking agent!I really don't think it could be dangerous, but to begin with 150mg sounds a bit high.. you should be very sedated at that dose when you aren't accustomes to trazodone at all.. but I really don't think that you would be in danger of serotonine syndrome.. but I'm no doctor and no expert at all!

Take care! Good luck to you!

My p-doc, who is very cautious about combining meds, gave me as much trazadone as I wanted -- up to 200mg worked for me for insomnia -- while I was taking 30mg of lexapro. So I don't think serotonin syndrome is a worry. It is a worry with MAOIs however.

Not sure, but I've been on trazodone, prozac AND celexa (and risperdal) all at once and I was OK. Everyone is different though.
