parnate

Hi. I wrote a while back while I was in a hospital for severe depression. They started me on trilafon and then, after a 10-day washout period from other meds, on parnate. Since I started taking parnate, 30mg in three divided doses, I have felt great. I never felt this well before except on abilify and risperdal, which made me gain tons of weight. I have no real side effects. The hypotension went away after a few weeks (and after I cut the trilafon dose to 12mg/day). The dry mouth seems to be much better. It's been eight weeks with no depression at all.

I tried SSRI's, mood stabilizers and all the atypical anti-psychotics in the past and the only thing that worked for me were the AP's, but I gained so much weight that I had to go off them.

I am soooo happy with parnate. I feel like this is a miracle drug.

WOW that's great news indeed!!!
I'm very happy for you! This is a rare happening :)

You still taking 30mg? Did you experience any brain fog during your first days/weeks?

Thanks for sharing your extremely positive experience!!! It's really great to know that some of us are having success!

Have fun :)

I'm still on 30mg, which seems to work. I had no ill effects at all -- no sedation or brain fog, as you call it. The one problem I had was insomnia which went away when my p-doc added 100mg seroquel at bedtime. Now I sleep fine.
