I just got a call from the drug company in Canada from whom I had ordered Provigil, paid them, sent them my prescription...everything. Said a new salesman was working with me and he didn't know.. No Provigil to any new clients. They will still send to their old clients who have been purchasing Provigil from them. It's quite a new policy by the drug manufacturer. Provigil has been changed to a " controlled substance".
CR**P I don't know what to do.
I can't believe my rotten luck.
Now what????

Yes, $464.00 for #30 100mg. tabs which is ONE MONTH's worth, Brand, in the US.
Canada has generic which wont be in the U.S. for 2-3 more years.
Generic from Canada $168.00 for THREE Month, or $56.00 for ONE month.
Can you believe it!!!!

And how can this be if you got a prescription from your doc that no pharamacy will give it to you?!? I think that's absolutely CRAZY and DUMB! They are all mad...Of course would be fantastic if you wouldn't need it anymore as Scott says.. maybe that way you get the "chance" to try it out?

That's terrible, I was paying $350 Aussie dollars for 2 months worth when I was on it, which is really cheap for here. Most meds are cheap here but not that one. Longest and one of the best meds I have ever taken. I really feel for you. Those American prices are just plain nasty.

Hi Gayle, have you ever tried the sustained release version of Ritalin? It might give you the same effect as the Provigil. In Canada a month's supply of provigil is only $40.00. I don't know why it is so expensive in the US. I really feel for you.

I forgot to mention that, that price was for 120 tabs. Surly there has to be some way around it if you have bought from them before. When I was doing well on modafinil it was a dream come true. I hope you get what you need

Drugs are a lot cheaper in Canada. Also, Canada gets generic versions before we do in the US.
Canada has generic Provigil.
U.S. wont be getting generic Provigil for at least 3 more years.
So the US drug companies charge as high as they possibly can. Many Americans have good medical insurance so they don[t care what the drugs cost, often don't even look at what their insurance paid for the drug.Hopefully, this will change. It's crazy.
Looks like too many people were buying generic Provigil in Canada, so the Drug Companies change the rules so it's now a controlled substance and the Canadians can't send it anymore, unless you had already been having it sent to you. So if I would have gotten it a couple of months ago I would be ok. But I didn't, so I'm floundering around.

Provigil is a controlled Schedule IV (C-IV) drug in the US -- the "relaxation" of receiving mailed medications by US Customs from Canada to the US for a 90 day supply without much search only applies to non scheduled drugs.......(e.g. Prozac, Seroquel, Viagra), not e.g. Valium (C-IV), or e.g. codeine + acetaminophen + whatever (C-III or possibly C-IV) which at least at one point was obtainable by reason-of-need from a pharmacist without a prescription, in Canada [but only while being in Canada].
Or maybe I'm missing something ?Anyhow I'm sorry you are having trouble obtaining a good price (I assume lack of insurance ?) on the medication.

I take something very similar to Provigel, yet I wonders why that this is being done. Is it Canada's health program? Or the doctor's. I don't get it, you know I was watching the news and...they where talking about Canada's healthcare program, discussing it, i didnt listen to it much. Is it a new what do say? um..in "goverment insurance?" or "healthcare", or that's the policy that they made. I think i'm learning something, also by giving advice...there are "Privite Insurance" and "Public/goverment insurance?". I need to know, health insurance, i've got to get a good plan, PPO (the best heathcare, i'm willing to sacrifice food (lose some weight).
Well, I do know that L-tyrosine and Ginsing are good. If there is just "no absolute awnser" to this issue. Heathfood stores provide natral, product's, and that could help maybe in your case of this. I'm sorry this happened, similar, I was taking Spansules, they worked well, yet the doctor does not prefer that (so i just go along). I take Nuvigel now.
Coffee, which I use for attention is good. Use filter's that are thick, makes good coffee!

Nuvigil is a molecular flip of Provigil. It's pretty much a patent extender, but who knows...-- tidings
