Less benzos the more tired don't get it????

Posted by Phillipa on September 7, 2009, at 12:55:47

The less benzos I take the more tired I am. Why? Anyone know? Could the hormones bioidentical creams be causing it? I don't know whether to take more as just get tired and used to have so much anxiety yet can't sit still. I'm morphing into an alien???? Phillipa

Benzos alone are not good for anxiety,in fact they can actualy create anxiety.I know your on a anti depressant, but ask yourself is it effective any longer?

Your anti depressant should have the job of taking away your main anxiety, benzos just aid in residue anxiety or panic attacks.

Not being able to sit still reminds me of when i was on ssris and they were in effective at their job.

Your still on luvox im assuming, but again how effective is this med for you?

Phillipa,

Did Scott write something on a recent thread about ambien and disinhibition that (maybe) addressed this. I'm not sure I understood that thread well--how one percent of population metabolize benzos and psuedobenzos differently? If you can't find thread, babble me.

Seems since SSRI's and SNRI"s came out none ever relieved anxiety. Primary diagnosis has always been GAD from at first panic attacks. Hence benzos always included. Luvox worked for two weeks. First on paxil at l0mg worked til dumb pdoc decided to try luvox. Phillipa

Phillipa, haven't had chance to find the info in the thread I was looking for. Can you re-try paxil?

If you have a history with benzos and perhaps some tolerance, then it isn't unusual to find higher doses more satisfying and dare i say, pleasurable. I think the disinhibition argument is pretty plausible - benzos can be fun!

Phillipa, didn't understand this post completely. What is fading? and is re-trying paxil too much trouble? And, btw, I know you like your pdoc, right? Been together a long time? But another doc could easily give you a trial of paxil--if it's worth it to you.

What symptoms are you having besides fatigue? Increased anxiety?

hugs

Hi Phillipa,

So anxiety and phobia are symptoms. It's good that you can see them as irrational. (But uncomfortable and distressing none-the-less. But what about the rest of above post. Would you consider retrial of paxil? It might really be worth it if you get some relief, esp. if you had a successful short trial before. Why wait till your pdoc comes back in six months?

fb

google askapatient.com for paxil results foe anxiety?

Hi Pippa,

Do you think the anxiety is actually making you tired? I know that the anxiety I have throughout the day tends to make me feel weak and listless.

I have found that when I take either Zyprexa or Klonopin then I have a lot more energy.
