Anybody read this book?

Posted by ricker on May 8, 2009, at 23:31:01

Just wondering if anyone has read the book " The Edge Effect"?
I've heard some interesting reviews and am considering getting a copy.

Hi Phillipa, I was stable for awhile then crashed big time! I had to stop the trileptal... my depression came back with a vengeance so I phoned my pdoc and he said to restart lamictal but to keep it at 50 mg as anything higher and I get to many side effects.
He also mentioned adding seroquel again, down the road but I will not go over 100mg as I get dystonia? at 150mg.

I'm beginning to crave cheese and thinking about a name change to Willard! ;-)

Take care, Rick

Ricker I'm so sorry. BTW SLS posted a thread on psychology on all the mood stabalizers. From my readings have found that all the hormones ultimately lead back to serotonin, dopamine, norepeneprine, and Gaba. There is a missing link. And if docs would work together maybe they could connect the pieces of the puzzel. Love Jan

Where is Scott's post on mood stabilizers? I'd like to read it.

Thanks Phillipa,

Zana

I have the book, I even toyed with the idea of going to Braverman's office in NY. Let me know what you think of it. :)

Yeah I read it. I failed to grasp the basic thing about what is your dominant neurotransmitter. It all seemed a bit silly. I was reassured when the results on the other tests suggested I was depleted of all of them. I dunno if there were therapeutic novelties in there?
