Hello,
I'm new here, though have been reading posts for a few months. I'd like to know if anyone here has had experience with treating anxiety with Librium. I suppose I'd especially like to know if anyone here has had success for an extended period.
(Since Friday I've been taking 5mg 3x per day. It helps, but I still get stomach aches and sp. I have xanax for emergencies, but am trying to keep the benzo usage down. I am hoping for around the clock coverage. Librium doesn't seem to impair me (feels relatively transparent) but am still experiencing anxiety symptoms.)

Yes, I know what you mean, though not when you take the 25mg ones so much.

Many years ago I also took librium and found it didn't hold me like valium but also was on miltown at the time. Phillipa

Librium works well for me for anxiety- doesnt help depression though! I can get by with 5 mg 2 times a day! However, the depression almost seems to be worse.....

Hi,
I felt more depressed on librium as well, though it took me awhile to identify that feature. It didn't really cut my anxiety at my initial dose, so my pdoc upped it--then I felt awful. I'm now on klonopin .5mg 2-3 times per day and am experiencing relief. I also felt the librium was somehow 'irritating' physically. I know very little about medicines to explain this....
