I think you would have to crush it to make it like IR.

What on earth is the purpose of taking Seroquel XR, which is basically a patent extension, but maybe someone responds to it, and cutting it ?

Sorry to sound harsh but I don't understand why people want to cut extended release medication.

It could be Seroquel anything, there's no way of knowing, yes, best guess it would be Seroquel IR, but the plasma level could be all over the place.

The original Seroquel has already been proven to be effective as a single dose at night, regardless of its 6 hour half life, it is the plasma life.

By making money with a patent? :0 A lot of the XRs, etc are patent extenders, there is some reason for certain formulations of agents though, like the extended Wellbutrin formulations tend to lower seizure problems.

Basically, the pill is made with multiple coatings I imagine, the first meant not to be breached as much by the hydrochloric acid in the stomach, which would be about a few hours I imagine, and slow the movement through the digestive tract and the blood-brain barrier...

A patent extender basically now that the fleeing from Columbine has settled. Luvox doesn't have that short of a half life, its close to 15-16 hours. If you're not taking a large amount you can take the entire amount at one point, especially when titrating up from zero to whatever dose you may end up at. The plasma steady state counts more.

Its probably not a good idea to take 200 or 400mg at once which could affect a sudden rush in plasma levels, so its split up into two daily doses at higher levels.
