In my experience, Dr. Bob tends to choose his words pretty carefully most of the time. What he wrote refers to the future....
"will be"
"soon"
"may be joining"
...which wouldn't be about new posters who have already posted this week on Meds, or any other boards. I just can't see Dr. Bob posting that *after* the project started - it doesn't pass the common sense or gut feeling test, for me, at least.

Linkage was on a post on med board refering to "the study". He thinks because of his anti-med position he would interfere with study. Most told him to stay. I agree. But, I geuss everyone will make their own decisions for their own reasons. I would like to know start/end date, I think thats fair. I've asked twice, but far as I know, no answer yet. I'll check again.

Hi, JadeKelly. I wanted to let you know that if Bob is the only one who has the information you want (dates of the study), you might have to wait a while-- a few days or more-- for him to respond. I assume he might be checking because of his announcement, but he usually isn't around so often. Questions that he has to answer may take longer to get answered.
I suspect he will at least say whether he can/will answer questions, before the research starts. He really tries to be fair about things.

Just FYI, 'cause I know you're new here, but you'll likely need to find a great deal of patience waiting for an answer from Dr. Bob. Posting that one post may be the only time he's making for Babble right now. Over the past, say, six months to a year or so, his personal participation has evolved to where he is typically absent from the boards for weeks at a time. Sometimes more than a month. Deputies have ways to contact him if we feel something is escalating beyond our abilities, an emergency (e.g., threat of suicide), etc., but other than that... :-( We aren't all necessarily happy about that evolution, but that is how it is now.
Of course, announcing a research project *is* unusual and we can all only hope he chooses to make time to check back on that thread. But there are no guarantees whatsoever. His life seems to be a very, very busy one that does not include Babble as a top priority at this time.
I am just speculating, based on Dr. Bob's recent habits and this is my opinion, nothing more. Just hated to think of you innocently checking back for his answer on same day...if that happens...well...knock me over with a feather...!
I suppose anything is possible, though :-)

I thought I should add that "...or more"-- knowing Bob's habits-- but I agree, I was perhaps being overly optimistic. With the announcement, I thought he would expect a bit of a reaction and might check more quickly.

I didn't say that. In fact, I'm not sure there is such a state as that. I'm a huge proponent of optimism...but like any human, I lose it from time to time, over certain situations/people...
