my face is super shiny w/ stimulant

Posted by utopizen on August 26, 2008, at 15:44:45

whether it's adderall or Desoxyn, my forehead gets shiny, if not sweaty (if I dance) 24/7 unless I don't take it for a day.

I see a Dermatologist, and take a strong retinoid, and he was rather "well, Tazorac is pretty effective for reducing shine." Well, it might be, but I know this is drug-induced.

So I can fight the acne off, but the shine stays... unless I plan on not taking it for a day...

anyone else get this taking ADD meds? any strategy?

Tried Neutrogena's stuff for shine control... doesn't really help.

thanks

Hi

i wouldn't take any more meds for it as it sounds like a minor issue? maybe same foundation-type make up?

How is Desoxyn as compared to other ADD treatments? i wonder what dose you take?.

Thanks

I think it's the Aluminum Chloride... which I take as 20% solution (Drysol)... I might just stop taking it.

desoxyn is like a mild amphetamine... I've taken all the stims, and I'd say it's pretty much the same as Adderall, but slightly less edgy.

if you dose it jusssst right, it'll be just enough so you can feel not-nervous, but still able to super-focus... but it's tricky, as you don't quite realize it's "working" until you do something that requires it...

very good, provided you don't take the dose that makes u edgy.

I find taking one 5 mg once to twice a day works just fine these days. exercise helps.

How about Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets? They come in a pack of 50 and you can get them almost anywhere (grocery, drugstore, Target, Walmart) for under $5.

Also, a good face wash with 10% benzoyl peroxide might help.
