Asperger's and Dopamine dereguation in brain.

Posted by rjlockhart04-08 on September 13, 2008, at 23:28:57

Asperger's, which is a terrible, disorder. I can function fine, have a job and learn to mantain high function. Never have i seen myself, Function appopriatly in a converation. I do have "persona's", but dont last long and unable to hold a good relationship with people.

Also, this concerns me, sometimes paranoia comes and reality gets distored, the only thing...."calm down, its your mind, stop thinking now". It works at times.... but a medication called Compazine would help at those times. I take Seroquel (new age anti psychotic) but it lasts way to long, calms thinking, then "blocks" it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prochlorperazine

At the same time: Stimulant medication has "success breakthought" in thinking. Funny, because antipsychotic's or Nueroleptic do the exact opposite, block dopamine, cause TD. Stimulants increase dopamine well, but also cause psychosis.

These medications have been on in the past,

Current : Vyvanse (lisdexamphetamine) is a slowly released amphetamine, that works very unique, but it almost seems it doesnt work. It's not Dexedrine Spansules, nor Adderall XR (extented release forms)

First, dextroamphetamine is the best for cognition, thinking, and socializing, and thinking "clear". I notice when i am not taking, I experience a real brain fog......i researched and read articles that low dopamine causes Attention problems. I obviously have low dopamine, my brain just doesnt "make" enough of it. That why, incredibly "spacey" and "airhead" like symptoms are present when i'm not on any cognitive-thinking medication.

Caffiene....is horrible, you want to see a bad mood. Just i'll a starbucks, or any thing that has moderate levels of Caffiene, it does not cut it, and it makes incredible irritibity, and "marked" impariredness on math.

Strattera...does not give a feeling of increased thinking to normal. (For this case) It gives a feeling of increased mental energy, but "marked" irritiblity was definently present, i could not function, how can i function when i feel everything feels awful.

Adderall....very good, but gave too much "peripheral" stimulus. Heart race, alot of stuff with the body it would speed up. Count tolerate.

Dexedrine/DextroStat......this was the "best" medication. My doctor/psychiatrist doesnt believe using the "older" medications, and refused to listen how effective it was. High-Payed, certified, but he doesnt believe in any short-acting medications.

The *One, medication that is "vital" from going to a hospital is Xanax (alprazolam) which i've been on for years. He compromised in this one situation, but wants to reduce down to nothing for anxiety. Xanax provides immidiate relief from nuertoic, panic, sweating, calms thinking fast. It also, can be used for "over the top" thoughts, but it only lasts 2 hours MAX.

I also read that simply people do not, produce enough dopamine, also in severe. Parkinson's is maybe present, BUT, i do not want to make any assumption until medical testing is done, do not diagnose yourself.

Concentration and "higher" thinking are caused from high dopamine in the prefrountal cortex. Too much can cause Delusional, paranoia, think you have "master" power that are supernatural. I've experienced mainly at night, it goes very indeep to dwelling on reality and the perception of life.
The following day, after Seroquel, all my high thinking goes away, and i'm in "daze", "gloom".

I know how to really tell this psychiatrist, dopamine needs to taken of, Vyvanse is unique, but its unprediable, i dont know when it's fully working. Dexedrine caused "set" concentration with 45min after ingestion.

How do i tell this doctor? "Vyvanse is not working"

*ask wanna talk about life. If your rerember me, i pop up when i want. But it's good to be home.

RJ I guess you just discuss with the doc your reason's you feel the vyvanase is not working. You know he will not prescribe amphetamines and they didn't help you. You like the seroquel? Love Phillipa

Hey you!

its been a long time. My posts need to cool "down" for a while....i just said "no more psycho-babble" well, i had to come back home, it feels good here.

Vyvanse is wierd, it works in about 1 hour -3 hours lasts "intially" 6 hours, it does have some effects after that, but, its very stupid to abuse. I did for a while, STUPID. It just causes paranoia, sometimes, hint, dextro releases dopamine too much.

If i did go back to dexedrine, which i've said to myself, "no more of your youthful ways again", i've alreadty told him could start a system, but doesnt believe in short acting medictions. So, i get but kicked out, takes my alot money too...thats annoying. But, obviously this doc knows "health" warnings on every medication. Which one is the best? Vyvanse.

Do you think this has anything to do with it? » rjlockhart04-08

Hey, Buddy -- do you think the fact that you have a history of abusing prescription stimulants, AND have here admitted abusing this prescription stimulant, might have anything to do with your doctor's refusal to prescribe an immediate release form for you? The immediate release forms have a higher abuse potential than the longer acting forms -- if you have a history of misuse of these medications, do you think it would be wise to have them prescribed for you?

Add in a history of short temper and derealization, and I think your doctor is doing you a big favor refusing to prescribe something so tempting for you.

I know you like the stimulants, and I know you like your Xanax, but maybe your doctor is trying to shift you from looking to medications for all of this? Yes, there are biochemical foundations for these disorders, but you know what? They're also behavioral. Behaviors can be modified. How about therapy? Have you ever been in therapy for any length of time?

Lastly, Asperberger's is a developmental disorder. Many people on this site met the criteria for it as children, and many people on this site "grew out of it." That happens with a lot of developmental disorders. My therapist is pretty sure I fit the criteria for Asperger's, up into my mid/late teens. I also meet many, many criteria for ADHD, even now. And I have a severe anxiety disorder, as well. And, of course, depression. I think you'd do well for yourself to focus more on your mental HEALTH, rather than mental ILLNESS. You have a lot of other qualities which you maybe could focus on. How about focusing on your successes?

Best luck, and thanks for announcing your name change on Admin.

-Well, man you to anounce that! when you smell a rat....you smell it. RATS! Well, since this embarrasing reminder, which i told the whole site, you cant run from your past. Stimlants provide a relief to "fog", not thinking correct, but if there mistaken, you will become so paranoid, you feel the FBI is outside waiting...things get way distorted. That's when I seriously had to put an end, to youthful, dumb, and simply "impuslivity" when taking another one when Dexedrine wore off. But, taken correctly, it does sustain a attention, percistance, and more logical thinking, when taken on the correct dose for anyone.

-Racer, u are "speedin" to tell the truth so no bolonie here...But, It would be a medical mistake to not treat with any stimulant, it makes me "think". Otherwise, i have irrational impuslivity with spending, not knowing how to organize, have a converstation that is "relevent". See where try to show? it has pro's and con's. Thing now, i'm grown up, its time to do mature actions now.

- Yup, let the truth setter, set me free. Man, i must of really came back to your memory fast! Ugh, god the truth hurts. Man you' killin me here! guess this a tabloid site.

-I agree, perfect. Just i'll call you when hit the fan, believe me. Ativan, Klonopin, didnt do it for me. Xanax hit nuertotic behavior, canncelled it out. I see a therpist now, teaching me "voo-doo technique", what every you call it, "breathe in and hold", but the other day, It didnt work, i always have Xanax ready PRN (only a certain amount, with it's presciption bottle)

- I could say, i do have the "quirks". I dont catch jokes, people dont get my jokes, but if they think a while, the'll get it. I "visualize" sets, of what may happen, that are good, change in personality to be a good person be around, instead of "let me help this kid". I hate that saying!

And rehears speech, and actions, and it has worked.

But rerember "I'm the rabbit, i'm full of trix", by trail is pretty messy, so dont follow it.

The meaning: i get attacked alot, but i have a suprise for that person! but dont look at my past, its bad memories.

Sense?

Good;)
