Parnate Supplement Augmentation Suggestions

Posted by eric wagner on August 31, 2008, at 9:02:02

I've been on Parnate for 9 weeks now, w/ no positive response.

I'm currently at 70 mgs./day & have been at 60 or more over for 4 weeks.

Has anyone successfully augmented their Parnate medication w/ a non-prescription supplement for help w/: helping Parante work, lack of energy, depression, anhedonia, concentration, etc.

I know Parnate's reputation for mixing other substances & causing serious reactions.

For this reason, I would not try anything, which is not well recommended & pretty safe to try.

Any suggestions, personal experiences, &/or medical journals will be much appreciated.

Thanks For Your Time & Consideration,
Take Care & Be Well,

Eric M. Wagner

People HAVE carefully combined it with stimulants and l-tryptophan in teh past. Do a pubmed search. But this is dangerous and should be done with a doctor.

I'm on 40mg of parnate (just started last week) and have for a long time taken chromium picolinate, omega-3, B-100 vitamin, and magnesium glycinate for sleep/restlessness at night. Not sure if any of them really help, though in the past I did feel that magnesium helped with restlessness. But it's not enough to touch the parnate sleep issues, which I hope will eventually abate.

There is always DHEA, DL-Phenylalanine, but both could be dangerouns (DHEA probably less so)

Parnate can be combined with a tricyclic antidepressant (except for clomipramine)in standard doses.

It can also be combined with bupropion (Welbutrin)
