Is this how a non-selective MAOI feels like?

Posted by Amigan on August 20, 2008, at 3:52:46

I'm asking this, because i have never tried a non-selective MAOI, but i have combined Moclobemide (MAO-a inhibitor) and Selegiline (MAO-b inhibitor)
Both drugs are tolerable by me if taken alone. Especially Selegiline. I get some anxiety and insomnia from Moclobemide.
When i combine them, they give me some unpleasant side-effects:
The mild activating action of both drugs is now replaced by solmonese.
Pronounced stomach discomfort with nausea.

I get similar symptoms if i take a high dose of Moclobemide. Perhaps Selegiline intensify the effect of Moclobemide or perhaps these symptoms are the result of excessive Dopamine which is metabolized by both MAO-a and b enzymes.
