I wish there was a big message at the top of this board that said two things: 1) All medications may affect everyone differently [because we all have different body chemistry] and 2) medications that may affect you one way, they may affect you an entirely different way when combined with other meds.
The latter is definitely one thing that gets overlooked on this board, and it is something you must take in context when reading anything on here: Someone may say, Lyrica is greatest drug for X, or this other drug nearly put me in the hospital, etc. A lot of times, Lyrica or X drug may have not had the same effect if taken just alone.
Any way, I was curious to hear what were some of the worst med combos anyone has ever taken? Well, I guess I phrased that a little WRONG: What I meant, was there a med that worked well for you, but when combined when a different med, didn't have the same effect? If so, what was the med that caused everything to change? And when you discontinued that med, did you go back to feeling the way you did before you added that other med? Please, if possible, be specific as possible in naming the exact meds and dosages.

Michael I could go way in the past but present last summer was the opposite of your question. A poc took away 50mg of luvox and only had me on high dose of benzos 3mg Bid of xanax long acting and I paid for the real deal. Didn't sleep at all wierd as the benzo doseage was so high so he switched it to 8mg ativan I only took 6mg didn't sleep for two weeks ended up in the Er with the ER doc consulting with the pdoc dept at the bigger hospital they had no reason why but said go back to 50mg of luvox and 20mg of valium and I could sleep. Wierd or what. Now that my thyroid is all messed up I want to just stop all the meds as all I want to do is sleep. Chemistry change? Phillipa

So do it already. You keep posting how you hate meds and want to get off of them. Do it and stop talking about it and see if you feel better!

When a stupid pdoc decided to add Depakote to my combo because she thought it would help with my impulsiveness. All it did was put me into a comatose state!

Wellbutrin + anything.
Worst I've ever felt. Several times tried with several different meds and also as monotherapy. I don't know what it is about wellbutrin, but that stuff is deadly poison to me, a first class ticket straight to the depths of hell.

Bad combo for me that I can remember :[Lyrica + Meridia]
: Tried 2 times to add Meridia (1 pill each trial) and I never thought a med could KILL the euphoria/wellbeing of high dose Lyrica that fast... AWFULL. BTW, Meridia is a SSRI, with no AD effect, marketted for weight loss ...[Anything + TOPOMAX]
: Tried 2 times and each time I had this strange feeling that I would stop to breath and my heart would also stop.. pre-seizure like feeling ... this was a nightmarish experience for me. Felt as if a part of my brain was shutdowned ![Wellbutrin + Ritalin]
: My senses was overloaded. I couldn't stand the noise, light, people.. very irritable.. during a souper I had with my parent I ask them to simply stop talking for a couple minutes! Ritalin, even without Wellbutrin, is bad for me./\/\arty

Nardil, tramadol, klonopin, xanax xr, sustanon and three other kinds of steroids i forgot the names of or just don't know how to spell the names of, plus whatever else i forgot as i forgot most of the two months surrounging this combo. All i know is i started hallucinating and was delusional believing my roomate was trying to kill me. I woke up three weeks later in intensive care just in time to go through the worst benzo/steroid withdrawal suicidal depression period in my entire life for at least two or three months afterwards. This disease sucks so hard it is unbelievable and the drugs that treat it suck just as bad. I firmly believe the cure for the kind of life i have to live is death, i just wish i were man enough to take my cure already. On the plus side zoloft seems to be working at the moment

Lexapro and Buspar.... what was that about???
The Buspar really sent me into H*LL. We can;t forget when a PDOC added Seroquel. I thought I was dying a slow painful death from akathisia.
