It is apparantly contraindicated to combine these two drugs.

I have no experience with it, but I've heard of the combination. Metformin has also been used successfully with Zyprexa, which is notorious for inducing weight gain and even diabetes.
For weight loss in general, adrenergic agents like ephedrine and clenbuterol are known to be useful, and so are stimulants (the central dopaminergic effect may be the main contributor to appetite suppression). Most of these are of course officially contraindicated with MAOIs, but many of them have been tested and are known to be safe if used with caution.
Zonisamide has been reported to help with weight loss. The doses required seemed pretty high if I recall correctly.
Finally, buprenorphine can be useful. Indeed, I've found it to be more effective for weight loss than methylphenidate.

Well, if you look at the psycheducation.org website, and I am also going by my own experience, Glucophage was useless for me. It also made me feel awful. I had to take it because I was diabetic. It did not even seem to work for the diabetes after awhile. Certainly NO weightloss. YMMV, IMHO and all that too, but I wouldn't be expecting miracles. I am going to be going on Dostinex hopefully in a few weeks. I will keep reporting what my experience is like with that.

Gosh, I wish you the best of luck. I am alarmed, however, at your choice of DA agonist. Dostinex has been known to produce cardiac valvulopathy in the same way as does fenfluramine (Pondamin). Both are agonists of the serotonin 5-HT2B receptor. This property seems to be directly responsible for producing cardiac damage.
What about Mirapex or Requip?

I've never taken Nardil, but I did use metformin to stave off Zyprexa-induced weight gain, and it worked. I actually lost 3lb over the course of a month on 2.5mg Zyprexa. This time without metformin I gained over 14lb.

Also you could have your igf-1 levels measured to see if your human growth hormone levels are low. If 100 or less than hgh shots can restore your levels and promote fat loss.
I have a feeling that drugs that promote serotonin increase also lower hormones that control metabolism such as thyroid and hgh.

Chairman MAO felt that a great deal of the Nardil weight gain was water retention, and used a drug that specifically addressed this. I forget the name of the agent ..
