TEVA Clonazepam Tablet Size

Posted by Rick on June 29, 2008, at 22:01:57

Can anyone tell me how much larger, if any, *TEVA* generic clonazepam (Klonopin) 2mg tablets are than *TEVA* 1mg -- diameter and/or depth? I thought this would be easy to find by googling, but the pill identifiers I found dont show or list pill dimensions, and I cant find anything on discussion boards. Thanks.

Hi Rick I've read a lot of discussion on other threads about Teva generic which I'm sure I've taken or may be in my valium. But I'm a bit confused I would imagine the size would be the same maybe and the color different. Why do you need to know is it possible you may have ordered and gotten one you think isn't real. I'm only guessing. Interesting question as in thinking my luvox in 50mg tabs is the same color but smaller. I think I will check in person what generic they are. Oh could you call a pharmacist and ask them? They would know. Good Luck Love Phillipa

Thanks, Phillipa. I've been taking 1mg Teva clonazepam a long time and will continue do so. I'm advising a friend who wants to take very small amounts (e.g., .25mg), but who can get the 2mg more cheaply. (I think he's being a little chintzy, since generic clonazepam is usually dirt-cheap as it is.) The concern is that, if the 2mg tabs are no bigger than the 1mg, they will be hard to split evenly into eights.

You're right, I (or he) will need to ask a pharmacist...unless someone who has taken both chimes in here first.

In my experience all generic klonopin is soft and has a sugary type taste to it. At first i thought it was for sublingual administration but these werent marked as such and im certain i've had various brands.

The only reason i even remember this is klonopin was the only benzo i'd compulsively chew because of that sugary taste.

I understand that in some countries they even sell a banana-flavored version!

P.S. I recall the original Roche Klonopin that took awhile back being softer than the Teva's, not vice-versa.

Makes a lot of sense now I can see quarters with a pill splitter but eighths is probably too small. Phillipa

(the second list, clonazepam)

Generally most all tablet sized benzodiazepines are about 4-5mm wide, scored, and a bit over 1mm deep, marked with whatever company number and binded with an approved colouring agent for drug amount.

The size does not vary by amount used to the best of my knowledge as the amount of medication needed can easily fit into the same stamping.
