omegabrite omega-3 and fish oils

Posted by ruby4 on June 23, 2008, at 18:56:45

I take 5 omegabrite per day. It really helps me. I have researched all the omega-3's and fishoils. Some people it helps right away but most people I know takes several weeks but keeps increasing over several months.
It is not in the stores. u get it at www.omegabrite.com

omegabrite just won an award for purity and for creating the category of high concentrate high purity high EPA Omega-3 and for elevating the standards of the whole category. That is pretty good.

I am skeptical about the "award", which is from a business journal and not an independent scientific organization. I am *extremely* skeptical about omegabrite's completely unsubstantiated claim that 7:1 EPA/DHA ratio is optimal. Most independent literature indicates that DHA should be at least one-third of total Omega-3 (2:1), and most sources recommend something closer to 1:1. E.g. the Omega-3 Institute

On the other hand, as long a you get at least 220mg/day (for average body weight) of DHA, I don't know anything that would indicate any bad effect from 1g+ of EPA. But I am skeptical of the cost/benefit of so much EPA and will remain so until I see a couple of reputable independent research studies, preferably double-blind, proving it.
