I have a family member who after trying several anti-depressant medications with no success, was prescribed Lamictal, and the difference was night and day. It was such an improvement, that after talking to my psych and being told that since we were related, it could possibly be extremely effective for me as well, I made a decision.
Despite the effectiveness of Nardil, I was becoming more and more irritated with the side-effects that had not gone away, so I decided to lower my Nardil dosage from 90 MG to 60 MG per day and add Lamictal.
Long story short, I'm now completely side-effect free and Lamictal + 60 mg Nardil has been even better then 90 MG Nardil.
And on an interesting note, when I was solely on Nardil, I almost completely stopped dreaming. Now I'm dreaming almost every night. And in turn, I'm feeling more refreshed upon waking.
From what i read, it seems sometimes Lamictal works absolutely brilliantly, and sometimes it does nothing. But if you've been through drug after drug with no success, give it a go. Side-effects are usually fairly minor (and in my case non-existent).

I was thinkin' earlier 'do side effects really go away?' ... or ... 'do we just become accustomed to them?', 'cuz this body pain and zombie feelin' is NOT good.
I know I'm early in this, still first week on Nardil 15mg, was 3x a day, but now 2x a day tks to help here.
But all over body pain?????????

It sounds as if the Lamictal put aside some Nardil side effects. Anything else besides not dreaming?

Football I was on lamictal a year or so ago and stopped at 50mg cause of spitting every two seconds. No other side effects and felt I was getting more assertive. Tried twice same thing the spitting. Think it would go away? Pdoc said it might? What do you think? Love Phillipa and of course I'm thrilled for you!!!!!!
