Little occasional short-term things, like "did I just put my keys in my pocket?" Word finding is worse (I've always had a little bit of a problem)
I guess it could be age as well.
I've been constant on Xanax 2mg long acting for almost a yr.
Slowly increasing Lamictal, currently @ 200.
Taking the pill
I also take 30mg Celexa & 200 of Wellbutrin, but I would guess they are not the issue.

Scott really maybe the 50mg was too low a dose to notice it on. Well my side effects are wierd anyway. Who ever heard of spitting every two seconds large amounts of mucus hence going off it per pdoc and tried again same thing. So lamictal makes you forget? So what's my excuse does it go away over time? Phillipa

Memory returns upon discontinuation of Lamictal, even after long periods taking the drug.

I would have thought Xanax would be much more likely to cause memory loss than Lamictal. Benzos are notorious for causing amnesia.

So memory issues never got better until discontinuing Lamictal Scott?
I have heard about Xanax, but would it show up after being on a steady dose for so long?

It seems to be dosage dependent. I was a moron at 300mg. At 200mg, there is some memory trouble, but it is tolerable. Of course, some memory impairment is due to the depressive disorder itself. I wish I could stop Lamictal. I've tried a few times. I do recall that my first time taking Lamictal, memory problems first occurred at 100mg. It did mitigate, though. Lamictal memory impairments come as primarily short-term encoding. There is some trouble with mid-term to long-term recall as well.

There is a difference between the acute amnesia that benzodiazepines and pseudo-benzodiazepines produce and the memory impairments that come after chronic use. Halcion and Ambien are perhaps the biggest culprits at producing amnesia.
