Lamictal/Trileptal hypomania

Posted by ajax1 on March 14, 2008, at 20:18:17

I've been taking 1200 mg of Trileptal and a small amount of Lamictal (12.5 mg). For two days I felt great and then on the second night, I had very intense dreams that brought on a morning headache. I felt very high strung the next day and went into a very hypomanic/dysphoric state. This happens a lot to me whatever kind of antidepressant I use. Even the so-called safe ones like Lamictal. Does anyone have similar experiences?
Thanks

well, when I started lamictal I was really irritable and angry in a way that was really out of character for me. It did pass.

Did you use it with another mood stabilizer or alone. I can't get passed the insomnia and agitation it causes. I hate to up the Xanax because it's so addictive.
Thanks for your response.

it was with effexor and low dose seroquel, that's it, the seroquel likely took some of the edge off, but the agitation was not fun
