'freezing'

Posted by iforgotmypassword on March 7, 2008, at 22:44:56

(that's what i'm calling it.)

does anyone get a complete stop in their ability to move or talk? i can already only will through tasks sluggishly and with awful resistance, this is physical. i've had this before and i assumed it was associated with tardive movement issues, but it's happening again and this is a really bad sign as i am trying to start a job through a programme i only have one shot at.

i'm 23 so i don't have parkinson's.

yeah...but it's been a long time
I would have "attacks" of it though
had to wait them out, before I could move again

Catatonia? I often go through periods where I just 'can't' move, or only with great effort. The worst was during benzo withdrawal - felt like moving through glue. Apparently it's accosiated with psychotic disorders such as Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder. It could also be a medication side effect of course.

Interesting as that same pdoc that said 25mg of lopressor will prepare your body for an SSRI. I had my pdoc during an office visit years ago felt great by the way very relaxed as had been going through a group therphy which said do only one thing a day was following to a T the pdoc wanted me in a celexa trial needed l0 patients the week before I said no I feel fine. Doc said no one wanted to do the trial. Next week he looked at me and said you have to go off luvox you're catatonic? I thought what???? Here I drive here and there was functioning good and he snatches me off a med for a trial and never been the same since at the time I think was on about l50-200mg of luvox with xanax and he let me drink 4-6 beers at night and takes me off and puts me on celexa same xanax and beer. No ad has worked since. Why would a doc do this money from drug companies???? Well it didn't do a thing but make me so tired I couldn't function so in 30 days he took me off. Lymes was discovered then too and I changed pdocs. Love Phillipa makes me think a lot.
