Too much noise inside my head!

Posted by Colleen D. on August 21, 2007, at 23:32:42

What is this? Med-induced? Like listening to a field of crickets and a pond full of bullfrogs when I'm trying to go to sleep. Only when I put my head down on the pillow though. I think I'm losing it.

Not sure what you're describing. Is it auditory hallucination? Thought process? Or are you talking about an amplification of/sensitivity to the noises you normally hear outside?

Monkey brain? Thinking about all too many things, rather than relaxing into sleep? If that's what you're experiencing, I've been there, too. NOT a very pleasant landscape, especially if you have to get up in the morning.

I've had some luck with telling myself stories to put myself to sleep. I make my own little movie, and play it in my head -- day-dream, fantasy, whatever. Or, I will read until I'm relaxed enough to sleep. Those are the things that work for me.

Good luck.

Need some more info. How long have you experienced this? Any recent med changes? changes in energy? What is your sleep cycle like?
