Ok... so I went off of my zoloft.. tried a new med (an MAOI) and it was not succesful... waited a couple of weeks for my washout, and tried to go back on my zoloft, starting at a low dose... and I get akathisia!!!! after two doses, I cannot stop moving around, fidgeting, pacing, only sleeping a few hours.... this is bizarre, and only on 12.5 MGS!!!!!!
I already take Valium, and I know the difference between anxiety and akathisia.
What the he** should I do? I think my body is saying "no thanks" to the Zoloft, but I may be wrong? Any ideas as to what I can/should do?????

id say discontinue, don't look back. There's a chance with psych drugs that the akathisia can be permanent. plus, why bother? if you're freaking out @ 12.5 mgs, zoloft (and possibly other sris) probably aren't a good idea for you. Maybe you should look at dopamine agonists and/or MAOI-type meds and/or tranquilizers instead of reuptake inhibitors. There's really no point in putting yourself through hell when the SRI drugs barely beat placebo.
Good luck.

Hence why it doesn't matter the dose of luvox I still feel the same. But if he got akethersia how could it be like a placebo? Love Phillipa
