Tried the benzos, zyprexa, seroquel and others, they didn't help...am interested in trying risperdal for GAD.

They didn't help? Not even the zyprexa and seroquel? What about low dose lyrica? Heard at low doses good for anxiety. As a matter of fact it was posted today can't remember which thread saturn also replied I remember that. Love Phillipa ps someone just wrote me that providgil and zyprexa lessen anxiety and depression.

Have you tried any of the antidepressants? SSRIs can be very good for anxiety, and Remeron is helpful for some people, too. EMSAM, the transdermal MAOI, is also supposed to be great for anxiety.
Of course, what do I know: if a medication works on my anxiety, it invariably increases my depression. Except SSRIs, but they're basically apathy pills for me -- hard to be anxious when I can't much feel as though anything's all that important to me...
For what it's worth, Buspar was actually pretty great for my anxiety. It did, alas, increase depression, but it was probably the best I've ever taken for the anxiety.
Good luck.
This is the end of the thread.
