Has anyone here taken Tenex (guanfacine)?

Posted by saturn on June 25, 2007, at 16:16:46

If so could you please share your experiences?

I'm particularly interested in any benefits or lack thereof in sleep, ADHD or anxiety.

Thanks...Peace...Saturn.

I realize this is a bit redundant, but please idulge me to add further...

Tenex is seeking FDA approval for ADHD.

My sense is that it may be marginally effective for hyperactivity.

I have my doubts, but could anyone please mention if they've had experienced any significant benefits from tenex with

1. Inattention

or

2. Social Phobia (or any other anxiety disorder)

I've yet to learn of anyone who has had symptomatic improvement in either of these regards with guanfacine.

Thanks...Peace...Saturn.

Another thought I had was whether Tenex (or its cousin clonidine) may cause depression, since its mechanism of action is exactly the opposite of Remeron--which is supposed to be an antidepressant.

Is guanfacine what is in cough/sinus mixtures as an expectorant?

That is Guaifenesin, completely different from guanfacine. Thanks for asking.
