Zyprexa is an antagonist at D1, D2, D3, D4 and D5 receptors, while Seroquel is an antagonist only at D1 and D2 receptors. Does this mean that Zyprexa inhibits pleasure more than Seroquel? And if the dosage of a neuroleptic is too high, can this cause depression?

I don't know of the propensity of one drug to induce depression over the other. Seroquel may have more antidepressant effect, but too much of any neuroleptic would probably cause depression.
I think seroquel does have some antagonist affinity for d3.

Zyprexa caused emotional blunting for me so although I was stable I was on the low side, so in my experience it certainly didn't help with my depression. I'm Bipolar II. I was taking 10 mg. I tried Seroquel and it seemed to help with depression but caused anxiety even at a low dosage of 300 mg a day.
