Thank God for Colace.

*Warning Constipation topic. So if that grosses you out please leave this topic*

After starting Nardil I had the absolute worst constipation. I tried all the OTC products, but I went almost 3 weeks without a bowel movement. After about 2 weeks, I started having extreme discomfort whenever I sat down and began worrying about potential long-term damage.

So I brought it up to my Pdoc and he prescribed Colace. It's safe, cheap, and works wonderfully.

So if anyone else here is on Nardil or something similar and is having similar constipation problems, get a prescription for Colace. It works great.

EVERYONE I know on Nardil, even a guy for 30+ years, has constipation. I try to eat a lot of fiber (oatmeal once per day) and have been fortunate to, um, use the restroom 2-3 days per week, but not nearly as frequent as I used to.

Let me ask you this: Liquids seem to go through me in about 30 seconds. Have you found that to be true, too?

Football: I do want to recommend that you take B6 vitamins as Nardil causes a B6 deficiency (look it up if you like). I also take B multi-vitamin and (this has nothing to do with Nardil) Omega 3 Fatty Acid.

Football how could you stand three weeks? You know for faster relief magnesium supplements work too. So congrats on finding a good one for you? And no the topic is not gross to me it's part of life. Love Phillipa

Miralax is now OTC

Miralax has just made it to the OTC market. I've been using it as needed for IBS-C for a couple years. I take the dosage in a cup of hot tea at night. Works nicely - no cramping.

I don't make $$ off of Miralax, just wanted to share what has really worked well for me.

Trust me to be odd one out. If anything Nardil seems to make my stools looser, although I stomach pain so this may be unrelated to Nardil
