What is This About Benzo +Paradoxical reaction +Tu

Posted by Phillipa on March 4, 2007, at 10:57:34

Did a google search on benzos and paradoxical reactions and there is mention of them with Vita C causing tumors? Anyone know anything about this? I couldn't get into the studies. Love Phillipa

The paradoxical part- again, could be a tolerance/withdrawal thing.

I've never heard of Vitamin C plus benzos causing any tumours, though.

NOT the same ---- » Phillipa

Benzo[a]pyrene, C20H12, is a five-ring polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon that is mutagenic and highly carcinogenic.

This is NOT the same as talking about benzoDIAZEPINES as a drug class and named as such for the chemical structure. Benzo is a chemical prefix and while "we" use benzo to describe benzodiazepines, we are using it essentially as short for or slang....

I'm glad Glydin was able to step in during my absence and give you the support you were looking for. Benzo(a)pyrene is one of the main byproducts of open flame (i.e. a constituent of smoke) as from a fireplace, or a cigarette. It's from incomplete combustion. It has nothing whatsoever to do with benzodiazepines.

If you're interested in paradoxical symptoms from benzodiazepine tranquilizers, you might find the lists at benzo.org useful.

http://www.benzo.org.uk/index.htm

Select 'symptoms' from the left hand column, and read any of the first four links that comes up on the right hand (main) frame.

I think you'll find that your symptoms are classic ones arising from long-term use/tolerance. I've been spending a lot of time thinking about it, and the only advice I've got is that you might consider going off them all. Endure the withdrawal, and hope that you get some benzo response back if you want to consider restarting them. Hopefully, your doctors would help support you through such an stressful time.

If my paradoxical experience to oxycodone is instructive, it is well worth doing the withdrawal under these circumstances, despite the difficulties presented by withdrawal itself.

swapping benzos

I was wondering if one could swap to another benzo to regain the efficacy of the original one, or are they all too similar?

That web site listed every known symptom of every illness. Can't go wrong then I suppose

Anyway I think I'll try coming off Xanax gradually. See if I can get em to work again
