dosage fine-tuning: tianeptine and adderall

Posted by elanor roosevelt on February 19, 2007, at 23:25:21

i am ready to up the tianeptine
have been taking half tabs of stablon 3x daily
adderall (generic)8mg 2x daily
xanax not often -- it isn't denting the edginess
10mg ambien nightly

having nightmares
don't even think of waiting on lines
parts of the day i am not a nice person

now taking adderall & stablon together am and early afternoon
stablon again in late afternoon
maybe i should be dosing in a way that the meds will balance out in a more complementary manner
my kid is going to visit her dad for a few days so it is good timing for science experiments
any suggestions?

Elanor, do you mean the Stablon isn't denting the edginess or that the Xanax isn't?

I went up to 3 tabs Stablon a day almost straight away.

(As you would know, it is quite short acting.
Some people find it makes them edgy.)

If this was for me, I would increase the Stablon (and lower the Adderall?), and maybe you will, or maybe you find your dose of Stablon is enough?

Thanks Declan
today i increased the stablon to 2 full tabs
and kept the adderall dosage the same
the adderall is allowing increased productiveness and focus
i think i will keep the edginess in trade
i find myself laughing here imagining me:
"get out of my f*cking way i am concentrating"

edginess is an odd issue for me
it is not odd behavior considering the over-saturation of this society

but after a while on the present dosage of stablon i will try cutting the adderall dosage

Hello elanor,

i'm not yet really able to up my stablon dosage. I'm taking 3 x half tablet and feel very unmotivated and drowsy all day long, plus constipation.

Do you experience any of this? It's weird, cuz folks usually don't display such sensitivity to Stablon (they use high dose right away).

I'm thinking about halfing again the dosage (!)

Hope you're doing well,

Ralph

I get into a kind of fuzzy state that is unmotivated and drowsy and related to tianeptine, perhaps.

I'm not sure what I can do about it, given my potential for insomnia.

Ideas include adding
Parnate 10mg (Was not a good idea for me, I went to bed)
Aniracetam (might clarify things? Bit of a strain though?)
Amphetamine (not good for me, not worth it)
Deprenyl (should be Ok, but insomnia wise?)
Acetylcholine precursers
Vinpocetine
Hydergine (always nice?)

Xanax is good, but unavailable here except for panic disorder. Perhaps I can get it on a private script?

Me too Declan, but I don't take Tianeptine and I DO take Xanax. I'm looking into sleep apnea Fred

Thank you, Declan.

For me it gets very clear that it's the antidepressant action that makes me this way (sort of not living on my skin).

I have both Xanax and Deprenyl (the one i was thinking about adding to Tia). I was only waiting to be sure it was not a temporary effect to start some experience eventually with both (or a long acting benzo). Xanax feels good, but its short life tends to leave things unballanced (for me).

Deprenyl was good for me for motivation, but did increase anxiety (still a problem with Tia) and irritability.

Have you thought about Cabergoline? It's quite expensive, but looks "clean" and has a quite long half life (about 70 hours). I'm a bit attracted to substances with neuroprotective properties.

I'll post some results if i start to experiment

Cheers,

Ralph

I mean, I won't give up with Tianeptine, just add something to make me feel more "alive".

Ralf,
>thanks for your good wishes

the last few days i switched from 3x half tabs to 2x full tabs
i think the stablon is working better at the new dosage
i started the stablon after i had already begun adderall
the adderall was helping with focus but not the depression
with the combo i am not bothered with constipation
a bit of flatulance i am sorry to say
hoping it is just an initial side effect
i have enough problems with my social life as it is
good luck

It's nice to have problems in your social life that you can understand.
