Appointment tomorrow

Posted by tensor on January 29, 2007, at 6:27:29

My Wellbutrin trial ends tomorrow, it does nada for my depression. I am taking it with Zoloft and Remeron. My lack of interest, energy and motivation suggests I need something pro-noradrenergic, so I'm thinking of revisiting Edronax. Although it was terminated a few years ago because of nasty urological/sexual side effects there are some promising studies that all of these s/e can be counteracted with tamsulosin(FLOMAX), an alpha1 blocker.
I'm convinced I have a biological vulnerability to depression, but it's triggered by long-term inner stress. For every task I undertake I'm always stressing to be finished as fast as possible although there is no time pressure or any economical reason. I have been through CBT for this but it didn't really help. How can you get yourself to calm down and try to enjoy whatever you're doing meanwhile instead of rushing to finished?

>Can you concentrate?

I have difficulties with that. I usually read alot, but can only read sporadically, a few pages here and there, which limits me to scientific and reference literature. I can't read through a book of novel style.

Hi Tensor, have you tried doing meditation? Doing some guided imagery can help ground me when my head is flitting around so much.

Good luck at the doctor's.

No, I haven't, but something else than just medication is needed, although that has been quite obvious for a long time now. I'm gonna discuss it with pdoc tomorrow.

Thanks :)

Hi,

I'm starting with Edronax tonight, this time with tamsulosin for side effects. Will take my first tam capsule (0,4mg) tomorrow morning. Interesting to see if it works. So it went as planned.

Thanks for asking,
Mattias

Hi Tensor...I saw your post and wasn't familiar with this med. Is it an AD? What is it used for and is it available only in certain countries?

Thanks for educating me an yet another med out there...S.G.

Yes it's an AD, it's an NRI a selective noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor. You can read about it here, http://reboxetine.com/ and here, http://reboxetine.com/rebtri2000.htm
It's n/a in the US for some reason.
