Why anti-D doesnt work for me?

Posted by rvp on January 24, 2007, at 20:10:02

I am tired of taking a lot of anti-Ds. I already took 1200mg effexor and now I am with 120mg Cymbalta, plus socian and Rivotril. In the beggining cymbaçta helped but it poped-up an now I dontsee any thing to replace it. Should I add another anti-D as amitryptiline(I have terrible imnsonia) or what could I do. I think in suicide all the days. I have no friends and no job. I'd appreciate any help. Tanks to all.

Welcome to babble don't recall seeing you here before . Does your pdoc know how you're feeling? Have you called him. I think you should. Are you with anyone? If not can someone come over to stay with you. There is always a crisis line. Post back to us we care. Love Phillipa

sounds like your life is kind of rough right now...anti-depressants aren't going to fix that, unfortunately.

Some people dont respond well to ADs, no matter how many they take or how high the dosages are pushed...it just doesn't happen. Maybe a mood stabilizer, neuroleptic, or higher dose of the Rivotril would help.

Also...not to second guess your doc, but I'd be worried about serotonin syndrome w/ your combo.

My pdoc said I have to do cognitive comportamenta behavior terapy, but I know it is a log treathment and I am without esperances in it. If I add amitriptiline couls I fell better to complete the psychoterapy? Or should I change cembalta by parnate? any advice is welcome. Tanks

Hello RVP

>Socian

I think that's the Portuguese brand name for amisulpride? Perhaps you are from Brazil? I saw a ç in your post so I thought maybe you have a Portuguese keyboard!

>I already took 1200mg effexor

That's a huge dose! How long did you take 1200mg for?

>Should I add another anti-D as amitryptiline(I have terrible imnsonia) or what could I do.

Have you ever tried mirtazapine (Remeron)? It's useful for insomnia and can be combined with most other ADs for a stronger effect. Unfortunately, it does often cause a lot of weight gain.
