How Long for Tramadol to Kick In?

Posted by blueberry1 on December 30, 2006, at 17:00:21

I've been looking at a bottle of tramadol for a couple weeks. I'm phobic of all meds.

I've heard tramadol lifts your mood in 2 to 6 hours, instead of the usual 2 to 6 weeks. Since they claim its primary action is serotonin/norepinephrine reuptake, I doubt that has much to do with it. Opioid action can't be too strong or else it would be a scheduled narcotic. Tramadol must have other under-recognized mechanisms at work.

Anyway, if I get brave or desperate and open that bottle, how long?

ps. I am highly aware of addition and tolerance. I have read every user's report there is available on google. Except for a few negatives, there are a ton of positives. But none of them really say how long it takes to work.

Tramadol takes effect in the same space of time as other opiates for me - in the region of 1 hour the euphoria flows up.

Straight away, but it's no big deal.

Compares well with psych drugs, of course.
