Posted by rovers95 on December 8, 2006, at 13:27:58

I no that it failed the trials, but iv heard reputable pdocs use it and its defo doin sumthin 2 me especially for hyperactivity and anxiety.

Does any1s pdocs use it (apart from emme's) what dosages are they gettin results with?????

iv had to cut down to 5 mg (but take l-theanine aswel...also nmda atagonist) as it made feel spacey and hellishly depressed with the klonopin!!!!!!

Hi Mark,

I apologize for forgetting to ask my pdoc what dosages she's used. We always have so much to talk about when I see her. Anyway, I'm glad it's giving you some benefit for anxiety. But no AD effect? I experienced the spaciness when the dose was too high for me. Do you need the klonopin with it? If you still need a benzo, perhaps try a different one. At one point I took clonazepam, but I switched to xanax on the chance that the clonazepam was making me more depressed. I am not sure if it was or not, but I've been quite happy with the xanax.

good luck,
emme

It's an Alzheimer's drug. It's an NMDA receptor antagonist. I'm sure others here could give you a more complete description of the pharmacology.

Not really. It was more slow and gradual. Like on the order of several weeks. YMMV of course. But if you are seeing some benefit after only 6 days, I'd say keep going for a while and see what happens. Good luck!

OK thanks, actually......i wud go as far to say im no longer unhappy and feel emotionally stable, but i wouldnt say that i am geeting much "joy" out of life - my pdoc has given me a prescription for some mirapex to augment, so hopefully this may make more "joyful" - i just miss that burst of happiness!!! It seems to work well with the theanine aswel - which i suppose figures!!

Really think riluzole would hit the nail on the head (and would replace both the lamictal and the memantine), but its too expensive for me to try at the moment - maybe when i get back to full-time work!!

Have you tried the riluzole, it looks really promising for people with glutamate based disorders???? Its going generic soon i think!!
