Importing Amisulpride Legally?

Posted by hgi698 on November 28, 2006, at 20:59:39

I live in the U.S. and i was wondering if there is a way to import amisulpride legally with permision from my doctor. If it's possible does anyone know how one would go about doing this?

It can be done, under the personal use exception but it is at the FDA's discretion.

Your best bet might be to try and enroll in a clinical trial of amisulpride in the US.

Watch for one to pop up here

http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct

or talk to your doctor, there may be one around you that is not listed.

Also, Sanofi-Aventis is the company that is sponsoring that drug you might contact them as well.

Good luck.

You can have amisulpride shipped from overseas legally, up to a 90 day supply. If you have a doctor's prescription in the shipping package that especially helps if Customs takes a look. Several of us babblers have imported it without problem. Shippers use discreet packaging. I have had Customs look at my overseas shipments without any problem. I think where you run into trouble is if you import a controlled substance without a prescription.

It is against the rules here to give out addresses of where to get non-FDA meds. All I can suggest is to do a google search for [xxx]. Amisulpride is called solian or deniban in other countries. Another place to look is at [xxx]...they don't sell drugs, but they list foreign pharmacies that ship worldwide and they review them as good or bad.

Just be sure the shipper receives a copy of you prescription and includes it in the package being mailed to yo (or risk seizure and having to navigate the customs red tape).

Heres a little more information:

customs is usually cool w/ non-controlled meds entering the US; problems are more likely to pop up if you're importing benzos and its *definitely* ill-advised to import anything is schedules I-III.

Good luck!

Sorry, but please don't use this site to exchange information that could be used to import into the US medication that hasn't been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. This includes posting instructions on how to find sources or a link to a site with sources.

If you or others have questions about this or about posting policies in general, please first see the FAQ:

Follow-ups regarding these issues should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration.

Thanks,

Bob

My pdoc was once going to prescribe something that one could not get in the U.S. but could get in Canada. He warned me it is not legal to get it in the U.S. but likely there would be no problem. I opted not to do it given my work with the legal system. It is not legal in this country to get prescriptions drugs, even with a script, if it is a drug that one cannot get in the U.S. with a prescription.

Drugs, Biologics, and Devices

In deciding whether to exercise discretion to allow personal shipments of drugs or devices, FDA personnel may consider a more permissive policy in the following situations:

1. when the intended use is appropriately identified, such use is not for treatment of a serious condition, and the product is not known to represent a significant health risk; or

2. when a) the intended use is unapproved and for a serious condition for which effective treatment may not be available domestically either through commercial or clinical means; b) there is no known commercialization or promotion to persons residing in the U.S. by those involved in the distribution of the product at issue; c) the product is considered not to represent an unreasonable risk; and d) the individual seeking to import the product affirms in writing that it is for the patient's own use (generally not more than 3 month supply)and provides the name and address of the doctor licensed in the U.S. responsible for his or her treatment with the product, or provides evidence that the product is for the continuation of a treatment begun in a foreign country.
