I got a bill of good (mental) health

Posted by Lindenblüte on November 8, 2006, at 16:36:58

Stable on my meds. No more depression. Anxiety is manageable. Therapy is tolerable. I can get my work done. Nothing upstairs holding me back. I can do this.

Pdoc wants to see me one more time before I'm on "long-term management plan"

yippee-doo! I've almost graduated!

just a little refresher-
6 mos ago. severe depression
5 mos ago. my very first psych meds
2 mos ago. depersonalization/dissociating crisis

right now? no crazier than the average person, and a whole lot more tolerant.

PEOPLE- you can do it.

Psycho-Babble helped me every step of my recovery.

And the medications I'm now on-
120mg cymbalta
200mg provigil (+200 prn)
.5mg klonopin (prn)
300mg seroquel

The side effects? When I started, they were wicked. Now, they're mostly gone, or at least tolerable (dilated pupils, afternoon grogginess).

Tschüssi!

My suggestion: don't stop taking your meds -- EVER, unless you must. Or maybe you can stop some of them, but then you are playing with fire.

I made the mistake of stopping Parnate and went straight to *ell, did not pass go and did not collect $200.

Nope, I won't stop taking them unless I have a reason to. One reason I anticipate in the next few years is some baby-making.

Whatever happens, I'm going to stay under close medical supervision and keep my blankie nearby when/if I decide to change my doses.

You're right. Thanks for reminding me :) Instability is not a carnival ride.

Thank you all for responding to my post.

I think it's hard to read an optimistic post sometimes, and to respond to it appropriately. I thank you sincerely.

And for the folks who are hurting, and my optimism feels like salt rubbing into your wounds- well, just remember that this post exists. Come back and read it when you're ready.

OH!!! I'm SO happy you're a part of psycho-babble. I think you belong here, cause you make me feel special. I'm so sorry you're hurting. no emoticon to give you a little pep talk wink. I think your posts are nice- the more you practice the more comfortable you feel, at least in my experience.
