I'm currently taking 90mgs Nardil and 30mgs Dexedrine Spansules. The Dex is really giving me some physical agitation. Biting my gums compulsively, twitching my feet, just very physically stimulated. BUT, it is allowing me to function. I held a conversation today for the firt time in months, and was able to write in my journal. I'll stay where I am for now, but I have a sneaking suspicion I'll need 45mgs of the Dex spansules to stay on the ball, in which case I'll need something to calm down the physical stimulation/agitation/twitchiness. I've been trying Ativan, which seems to (maybe placebo) bring it down a notch, but it is far from effective. And taking 6mgs Ativan during the daytime while trying to drive around to various worksites is a bit of an adventure.
My doc recently wrote me a script for Neurontin, and while I hope it can work in conjunction with the Dex in just shutting up the useless mind chatter and heavy anxiety, I was also wondering if it had the potential to eliminate some of the physical disruption from the Dexedrine. Any suggestions? It's wierd, because the first time I gave Dexedrine a good trial and it worked like gold, I was on a VERY high dose, and this physical discomfort was just not an issue. I wonder if it's something I'll adjust to or what. Are there any other meds you would suggest that won't cancel out the efficacy of the Dex, but might help with the physical agitation? I would give anything to be still for a moment and not keep twitching around so much. many thanks friends and much love...

You have stimulation and calm,and its drug induced,which means it can crash hard.
I would taper up the Nuerontion dose slow,and personly use a benzo as a third drug to keep the nuerontion low and a benzo like klonopin will halt recreational type highs and keep it more therputic.
A ampeth/sedative combo are the kind that have you talking up a storm,similiar to ghb.
Of course just my take from having used the two drugs in question.

thanks. i'm definately NOT after a recreational high. It's just that I've tried everything and the Dexedrine truly does adress my symptoms. 30mg yesterday and I held the first natural conversation with another human being in over six months. I just need to find a way to subdue the constant physical agitation (biting my gums, twitching my toes etc). Perhaps it will fade with time. I'm super worried that the therapuetic effect I'm geting from the Dex just won't develope into any type of long-term solution. Thanks for the concern. Good luck bro..
